2026 Application Webinars
Open House: Wednesday, September 24, 2025
Please join Truman Foundation staff and recent Scholars for this overview of the Truman Scholarship and our upcoming application cycle. Scholars will discuss their reasons for applying, share suggestions for writing the application and provide ways to deal with common issues that come up during the process.
This webinar is open to all potential Truman applicants, whether they plan to apply this year or in future years. This webinar is also open to all campus Truman advisors, Truman campus committee members or recommenders.

2026 Webinar Schedule
The Foundation will have a series of webinars on the 2026 application process. The dates and topics appear below. Sign in instructions will be available on the dashboard page of registered users. Recordings will be posted on the dashboard page a day or so after each webinar.
- Advisors: October 22, 2025: This session is open to Advisors only and will cover updates to the 2026 competition as well as suggestions for identifying and assisting applicants.
- Candidates: November 12, 2025 & December 3, 2025: These sessions are open to 2026 Candidates; Advisors are welcome. We will provide detailed advice on how to complete the application as well as suggestions from our reading committee on common issues in the written application. We will also discuss how to get the most out of the application process. Both sessions will include basic information about the interview process as well as advice for preparation for Truman interviews.
- Office Hours: January 21, 2026: This session is open to both 2026 Candidates and Advisors. We will provide an overview of frequently asked questions. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions or problems for our staff to troubleshoot.
- Finalists: February 25, 2026: This session is open to 2025 Finalists and all Advisors. We will discuss how best to prepare for interview and what to expect from the process. We will also discuss trends in interview preparation - some good, some less so - and provide an overview of frequent interview missteps.
Questions are encouraged at all sessions. Staff will remain on hand after each session if there are questions specific to individual applicants.

- All webinars will be recorded and recordings posted 24 to 48 hours after the event. The Open House recording will be posted here. All others will appear on your dashboard. If you have questions, please contact tyglesias@truman.gov.
- Advisors may attend any webinar, including all candidate webinars.
- We are happy to take your questions - even difficult ones! However, if your question requires you to share personal information or is very specific to your individual situation, please hold the question to the end of the session when you can ask it privately or email the question to tyglesias@truman.gov.
